Non profit index - a tool for diagnosing NGOs

Open-index - tool presented on this website came into being because of Stefan Batory's Foundation (Fundacja im. Stefana Batorego) as a part of "Third Sector" programme.

The main goal of this programme was supporting polish NGOs in their development and one of the results of the programme is free (available on this website) NPI tool. This tool allows each NGO to carry out very detailed diagnosis of management processes.

For whom NPI is prepared?

This tool is suitable for each organization which:

• perceives need for its development in management field,

• is interested in gaining knowledge about their strong and weak points in organization development (in basic fields of management),

• wants to prepare good developmental plan - data from NPI are very helpful in creating such plans.

What NPI was designed for?

Non-Profit Index allows NGOs to carry out a detailed diagnose of such management domains as:

• strategic management

• communication with external stakeholders

• project management

• financial management

• fundraising

• people in organization (workers and co-workers)

• organization's impact on society

How NPI should be used?

This site presents complete description of the NPI and makes every material accessible. Materials include: descriptions, questionnaires and keys which are essential for organization to prepare their autodiagnosis.
